After Richard Swift passed away in July, the music industry was devastated at the heartbreaking loss of yet another influential and multi-talented songwriter to alcoholism. In November, Lucius, who have worked closely with Swift in the past, announced a 7” record series titled The Fug Yep Soundation in memory of Swift and the first installment of that series, Fug Yep No. 1. All the releases will feature two singles which were inspired by or recorded with swift, and the first two songs, “Christmas Time is Here” and “Keep Me Hangin On,” are out as part of Fug Yep No. 1 now.
Alice Merton returns with the next single off her upcoming album MINT with a Nylon Magazine premiere of her track “Funny Business.” In this new track, Alice lays down the line and lets you know that she isn’t someone to mess with and she doesn’t do any funny business. Alice Merton explained the new track to us as, “I’m not someone who messes around nor do I like being messed around with. My guy will always tell me if something makes sense or not. Who I should and shouldn’t trust/ I can promise one thing in life… I don’t do funny business.”
