Exciting news — Today we’ve launched our shiny new subscription service, Boombox! Through Boombox, you’ll receive a digital download of every Mom+Pop release, plus a whole bunch of super exclusive 7″ vinyl, all delivered straight to your door (/inbox) on a monthly basis. It’s basically going to feel like your birthday, but without that pesky 12-month wait between each event.
Sign up now and you’ll receive an immediate digital download of Wavves ‘Afraid of Heights’, FIDLAR ‘FIDLAR’, and Beat Club ‘Something Better EP’. The first 300 subscribers will also receive a Boombox tote bag, plus vinyl copies of Metric ‘Synthetica’, Sleigh Bells ‘Reign of Terror’, and one more randomly selected vinyl from the Mom+Pop discography — we’ll choose it when we pack up your order, pretty mysterious and exciting, right? As for that exclusive 7″ vinyl we mentioned, so far we can confirm forthcoming releases from Smith Westerns, Polica, Neon Indian, Beat Club, and Twin Peaks.
Those of you who sign up in April will receive all of the above for only $9.99 this month, reverting to the usual $12.99 for the subsequent months.
Quick disclosure: This is not an April Fools joke, we really are that generous.
Happy Afraid of Heights Day! Wavves latest record is now available to purchase over on iTunes, with CD and vinyl available from Amazon and Insound.
Those who were smart enough to pre-order will have received their bundles over the weekend, two days ahead of the official release, with the first 500 LPs being sent out on limited splatter vinyl:
To celebrate the record release, the band have premiered a brand new video for the ‘Afraid of Heights’ title track. See Stephen Pope seduce Nathan Williams, clad in pearls and a dress, before… well, we’ll let you find out what happens next for yourselves:

Our friends over at Noisey have just premiered Wavves’ latest video for ‘Demon to Lean On’, it’s the classic Lord of the Flies scenario, although with less killing of the vulnerable outsider, and a lot more meat-eating and wrestling. Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
‘Demon to Lean On’ is taken from Wavves’ forthcoming ‘Afraid of Heights’ LP – coming March 26 on Mom+Pop (that’s us!), and available to pre-order now: http://smarturl.it/wavvesaoh
The wait is over. Last night, Wavves threw the curtains back and unveiled all the details surrounding their eagerly-anticipated Mom+Pop debut, Afraid of Heights. That’s the cover art up above. Heights is available for pre-order — in multiple configurations including pins, t-shirts, and Nathan’s long awaited Negative Dad comic – right here.
In other news, Wavves also announced a run of March and April dates with our very own FIDLAR. When we say that this tour is going to be insane, believe us. The bands will be playing in small rooms throughout the US. How small? We’re talking a pair of NYC gigs at Shea Stadium and Glasslands. Prepare to get kicked in the face and like it. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 1st. Get them quick.
Stream the album’s lead single, “Demon To Lean On,” here, and check out the tracklist and full run of dates below the fold.
Wavves have joined the Mom+Pop family, and are readying a new record for release in Spring of 2013. Earlier today — December 12th, 2012 at 12:12pm EST — Wavves unveiled a song from the as-yet-untitled album, which was produced by John Hill and recorded in LA at Sonora Studios. Listen to “Sail to the Sun” here. Along with the release of the track, Pitchfork has premiered a companion music video, directed by BLACK // DOCTOR (CHRIS BLACK + MISTERDOCTOR). Check out the clip, a televangelist’s 100% seedy, gloriously NSFW bender, below.
