Lucius Cover “Closer” by Tegan and Sara + Boston, Portland Shows Together

July 26th 2013

With just a battery-powered keyboard and some light percussion, Lucius nail this cover of Tegan and Sara’s “Closer.” Watch below!

Tonight, Lucius will be supporting Tegan and Sara at their Boston show, and again tomorrow night in Portland. Both shows are sold out already, but if you were lucky and/or smart enough to have bought tickets already, then the below video is going to make you feel even more smug than you already do. Congratulations.

Lucius Reveal Album Details + New Single “Hey, Doreen”

July 23rd 2013

An exciting morning indeed. The announcement has officially been made: Lucius‘s debut full-length, titled Wildewoman, will be released on October 15th.

Accompanying this news comes the album’s first single, “Hey, Doreen”—a “soulful song…powered by fuzzy guitar hits, soft organ tones, electronic effects, and reverberating keys, making for a very modern take on some classic ideas.” The spot-on quote comes from Spin, which is also where you can hear the new tune.

Album art and tracklist follow.

1. “Wildewoman”
2. “Turn It Around”
3. “Go Home”
4. “Hey, Doreen”
5. “Tempest”
6. “Nothing Ordinary”
7. “The Two of Us on the Run”
8. “Until We Get There”
9. “Don’t Just Sit There”
10. “Monsters”
11. “How Loud Your Heart Gets”

Lucius Joins Wilco on Stage for Famous Solid Sound Cover Set; CD released

July 12th 2013

It looks like Lucius and Tweedy & co. have been forming a friendship. On June 21st at Wilco-curated Solid Sound Festival Lucius joined the hosting band for their annual cover set, playing alongside legendary alt-country-whatever stars for a few of the tracks.

We have a lot of exciting stuff up our sleeves for the rest of the year, and we wanted to give you guys a taster of everything we’ve been working on (because we feel selfish keeping it all to ourselves).
