Learn how to bake an amazing flourless chocolate soufflé cake with Ingrid Michaelson.
I’m a chocoholic. A few years ago, I had a flourless chocolate soufflé cake at a restaurant and thought, This is the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my entire life.
I went home and found a similar recipe online. It looked easy, but when I made it for a party it came out of the oven a brown, sunken-in, not-very-appetizing thing. Everyone else brought along beautiful frosted cakes and fancy desserts—and there sat my lump of brown nothingness. But once people tried it, it was gone in seconds.
Since then, I’ve made one every single year. And each time someone says, “Okay, what’s this?” and then, “Oh my God! What is this?”
Singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson recently came by the Rolling Stone office to perform stripped-down renditions of a few of her songs, including her latest single “Parachute” and “Maybe,” a song from her most recent album Everybody. Michaelson also sang her breakthrough hit “The Way I Am,” a gentle little tune that she says serves as an “ambassador” for the rest of her music.
Ingrid Michaelson is getting into the holiday spirit by launching the “12 Days of Ingrid” on IngridMichaelson.com. Every day for the next 12 days, she will be announcing new contests for the chance to win amazing prizes, such as props from the ‘Parachute’ video, a signed ukulele and more!
