Exciting news — Today we’ve launched our shiny new subscription service, Boombox! Through Boombox, you’ll receive a digital download of every Mom+Pop release, plus a whole bunch of super exclusive 7″ vinyl, all delivered straight to your door (/inbox) on a monthly basis. It’s basically going to feel like your birthday, but without that pesky 12-month wait between each event.
Sign up now and you’ll receive an immediate digital download of Wavves ‘Afraid of Heights’, FIDLAR ‘FIDLAR’, and Beat Club ‘Something Better EP’. The first 300 subscribers will also receive a Boombox tote bag, plus vinyl copies of Metric ‘Synthetica’, Sleigh Bells ‘Reign of Terror’, and one more randomly selected vinyl from the Mom+Pop discography — we’ll choose it when we pack up your order, pretty mysterious and exciting, right? As for that exclusive 7″ vinyl we mentioned, so far we can confirm forthcoming releases from Smith Westerns, Polica, Neon Indian, Beat Club, and Twin Peaks.
Those of you who sign up in April will receive all of the above for only $9.99 this month, reverting to the usual $12.99 for the subsequent months.
Quick disclosure: This is not an April Fools joke, we really are that generous.
Having teased out a bunch of ‘acid trippin’ in space’ internet-friendly GIFs towards the beginning of this week, FIDLAR have finally unveiled their brilliant new video for Max Can’t Surf II: The Zuk Trip – available to watch now in all its glory over on Tumblr.
The band will be hitting SXSW next week for a handful of shows including the Thrasher/Converse Death Match, Pitchfork’s Showcase, and an instore at Waterloo Records, before heading out for a full North American tour with Wavves and Cheatahs.

The wait is over. Last night, Wavves threw the curtains back and unveiled all the details surrounding their eagerly-anticipated Mom+Pop debut, Afraid of Heights. That’s the cover art up above. Heights is available for pre-order — in multiple configurations including pins, t-shirts, and Nathan’s long awaited Negative Dad comic — right here.
In other news, Wavves also announced a run of March and April dates with our very own FIDLAR. When we say that this tour is going to be insane, believe us. The bands will be playing in small rooms throughout the US. How small? We’re talking a pair of NYC gigs at Shea Stadium and Glasslands. Prepare to get kicked in the face and like it. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 1st. Get them quick.
Stream the album’s lead single, “Demon To Lean On,” here, and check out the tracklist and full run of dates below the fold.
It’s finally out! After months of anticipation, today is the day you can literally walk into a record store and pick up your very own copy of FIDLAR’s debut full-length. You can also snag it directly from the band, with a skatedeck or exclusive tee, or pick it up on iTunes. Decisions, decisions! But no matter how you buy it, you’ll be pleased to know the band just dropped a pair of music videos on the world today. Both are for the album standout “Wait For The Man,” one a raucous live video from the band’s recent night at The Echo, and another a straight up Skate Video. Watch them both above.
FIDLAR released the album-version of “Cheap Beer” a little over a month ago. The live staple features the refrain “I! DRINK! CHEAP! BEER! SO! WHAT! FUCK! YOU!” In the music video for the song, premiered today via Noisey and directed by regular FIDLAR collaborator Ryan Baxley, the emphasis is on the “FUCK! YOU!,” as a bearded, tatted-up, motorcycle-riding tough guy roams the streets of Los Angeles pretty much beating the living hell out of anyone drinking a beer that costs more than two bucks.
FIDLAR, the LA hooligans’ debut LP, is out January 22nd. Catch the band on the road right now with Delta Spirit. Full dates below the fold.
Almost twelve months to the day after Mom+Pop fell in love with FIDLAR at last year’s CMJ, we’re beyond excited to announce the details surrounding the release of their debut full-length. It’s called FIDLAR. It’s due January 22nd. That’s the cover art above. Tracklist and tour dates below the fold. Help yourself to a new song, “White on White,” then GET PUMPED!
