“An Horse’s Kate Cooper isn’t one to let idle hours go to waste. ‘After [2009 album] Rearrange Beds came out, I had some time off in Los Angeles,’ says the singer-guitarist, one half of the Aussie indie-pop duo (Damon Cox handles drums). ‘It was the first time in a long time that I had the opportunity to just sit around and write songs.'”

Australian duo An Horse have announced the release date for their sophomore full-length, Walls, April 26 on Mom+Pop Music. Walls is available for pre-order immediately here on CD, 180 gram vinyl, with t-shirt, pillowcase and autographed poster, plus immediate download of the album tracks, “Know This, We’ve Noticed” and “Trains and Tracks.” Rearrange Beds, which garnered glowing reviews, from People to Pitchfork, a performance on the Late Show with David Letterman and relentless touring, supporting such acts as Death Cab For Cutie, Tegan and Sara, Silversun Pickups, Cage The Elephant and The Big Pink, Walls was recorded in Vancouver last summer with producer Howard Redekopp (The New Pornographers/Tegan and Sara). Walls is an album of distances traveled and of distances between loved ones, shaken up in a bottle and exploding upon its release.
In addition, An Horse will premiere material off Walls starting at this year’s SXSW Music Conference in Austin, TX and hit the road from there through the south and up to the northeast (full dates below). An Horse will perform at this year’s Bamboozle Festival at the New Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, April 30, alongside The Gaslight Anthem, Dashboard Confessional, Thrice and many others. An Horse announced yesterday that they are offering fans a first taste of new music from their upcoming sophomore full-length, Walls, via the band’s website, AnHorse.com. “Trains and Tracks” is available for free download and viewers can check out in-studio footage of the band recording with producer Howard Redekopp (The New Pornographers/Tegan and Sara) in Vancouver, BC. Only problem was that within 30 minutes the demand was so high it overloaded and crashed the site. Today fans and the curious alike can once again check out “Trains and Tracks” via www.anhorse.com. Walls will arrive in stores in April on Mom + Pop Music, with many more details to be announced in the near future.
In addition, An Horse has been confirmed to perform at this year’s Bamboozle Festival at the New Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, April 30, alongside The Gaslight Anthem, Dashboard Confessional, Thrice and many others.
