It’s really a special moment for me to be working again with Tom Morello on his upcoming album, 'The Atlas Underground.'
We've grown up in the business together. We've laughed, cried, experienced the greatest highs and a couple of lows as it’s never a perfect journey. We met during the early days of Rage Against the Machine. They changed the course of my career and I hope that I contributed to doing the same. Tom and I remained friends after I left Epic and the band moved on from each other. I was able to dabble for a New York minute on Audioslave, albeit unofficially. At least we had our fantasy football team, Red Menace lead by Drew Brees, and two championships under our belt to stay connected.
Around 3 years ago, I heard a remix he’d done with the Prodigy in Charlie Walker’s office at C3. It all made sense in that moment. I reached out to his manager, Ken Levitan, and convinced them to work on a new project with Mom + Pop. To my excitement, they agreed. I was thrilled as how often in life do you get two opportunities to work with a musician, turned icon and guitar hero from one of the most compelling rock bands of all time (who also happens to be an amazing human)? After pinching myself we got started. Being one of most motivated dudes in the business he simultaneously started Prophets of Rage and dedicated himself to both his solo and their efforts.
Now 'The Atlas Underground' is finished. We are excited but I won’t attempt to shower superlatives only to say we’re all damn proud. Hope you love and appreciate it like we do.
