Lucius share stage with Mavis Staples, appear on Fallon with Jeff Tweedy

Lucius took Newport Folk Festival by storm this weekend, sharing the stage with Mavis Staples, Tweedy, Deer Tick, along with their own stellar performance (which landed them on Billboard’s “10 Best Performances of Newport Folk Festival” run-down)

Newport Folk Festival was actually the second time we’ve seen Lucius collaborate with Tweedy (aka Jeff Tweedy of Wilco and his son, Spencer) in the past week, with the girls also appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to provide back-up to Tweedy’s “High as Hello”.

And, as if the line-up of legends already mentioned weren’t quite enough, JD McPherson today shared an intimate collaborative performance of Buddy Holly’s “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore”, featuring JD alongside the likes of Lucius, and Jimmy Sutton.
