Metric pay homage to Lou Reed with “Pale Blue Eyes” cover on the Late Show

Paying homage to the late Lou Reed, a close fried of Emily Haines and collaborator on the band’s latest album “Synthetica”, Metric took the Late Show with David Letterman stage to perform a cover of the rock legend’s “Pale Blue Eyes”. Watch below.

The band performed the cover alongside Lou himself back in 2012, at NY’s Radio City Music Hall.

“Persuading him to play “Pale Blue Eyes” when he joined Metric onstage for “The Wanderlust” at Radio City Music Hall in 2012 required a more nuanced approach and I’ll always remember the golden look of approval he gave our guitarist, Jimmy Shaw, when he played that delicate guitar line onstage that night.” — Read Emily’s heartfelt tribute to Lou Reed, published via Rolling Stone.
