Smith Westerns’ brand new album ‘Soft Will’ is out TODAY — hailed by Pitchfork as “cinematic” and “instantly likeable”, by NME as “optimistic” and “nostalgic”, and by us here at Mom+Pop as “really really great” (yes, that’s a direct quote). You can pick up ‘Soft Will’ now through iTunes, the band’s online store, or your local indie record shop.
Here’s a rather heartfelt word from the band themselves:
Today is the day! Its been almost two and half years since we debuted Dye It Blonde or released any material for that matter, and I’m already beyond stoked. If you were to ask us four years ago, when we first released the S/T, that we would still be making music in 2013 we’d probably would’ve laughed. We started writing music as a release from our own youthful obligations and thanks to everyones support its turned into something much greater.
Being in a band and touring is the only thing any of us have ever known and Soft Will reflects the triumphs and failures we’ve experienced throughout our time together. Soft Will, like our other albums, serves as a bookmark to the experiences we’ve lived through up to this point. And just like how each record brings us as a band closer together, I hope that this record let’s you the listener even further into our world.
Thank you so much for the support and enjoy ;)
