Exciting news -- Today we can finally announce that Tash Sultana has joined the Mom + Pop Family. At just twenty-one years of age, Tash has already made a name for herself busking on the streets of Melbourne and sharing videos of herself jamming in her bedroom, getting millions of views online.
The full list of official GRAMMY nominees was released this week, and Flume has received two separate nominations! "Never Be Like You" is up for "Best Dance Recording" while Skin is up for "Best Dance/Electronic Album."
The 59th GRAMMYs will air via CBS on February 12th. While we await the results, there's plenty of new stuff from Flume to tide us over: there's the new, four-track Skin Companion EP, the amazing new video for "Say It (ft. Big news! Today Alina Baraz is announcing her new single "Electric," as well as her first official headlining tour. "Electric" is the Los Angeles-based singer's first major release since 2015's Urban FloraEP, and this is her first major North American tour.
Just announced: Courtney Barnett will be opening for Patti Smith at Festival Hall in Melbourne on April 20th. Patti Smith will be concluding a five-date Australian tour, and this show is expected to be her last ever in Australia. A longtime fan, Courtney Barnett performed Patti Smith's 1975 album Horses in full at a Melbourne show in late 2015, and this morning Courtney posted the show poster on her Instagram saying "Dreams can come true." This is also Courtney Barnett's only Australian show currently scheduled for 2017.
Jai Wolf premiered the new music video for "The World Is Ours" from his 2016 EP "Kindred Spirits." In the video, Sajeeb chronicles his adventures from the past year as he travels to cities ranging from Paris to Sydney, playing for excited fans along the way.
